Quick answer: the Omoda 9 can tow 1,500 kg braked (750 kg unbraked). The Omoda 7 manual gives 1,250 kg, the Omoda 5 SHS-H 1,000 kg and the E5 750 kg. Every model that lists a nose weight allows 75 kg on the towball.
These figures come from the towing sections of the UK owner's manuals. The legal limits for your own car are on its VIN plate and in your V5C, and those are the final word if they differ.

Towing rules from the Omoda manuals
- Running in. The E5 and Omoda 9 manuals say not to tow for the first 600 miles (1,000 km).
- Charge before you go. The E5 and Omoda 7 manuals recommend at least 50% battery before towing; the Omoda 9 manual says 60% or more.
- Speed. The E5 and Omoda 9 manuals say not to exceed 100 km/h (60 mph). In the UK, the legal limit when towing is also 60 mph on motorways and dual carriageways, and 50 mph on single carriageways.
- High ground. Above 1,000 m altitude, the E5 and Omoda 9 manuals say to cut the trailer weight by 10% for every extra 1,000 m.
- Heat. The Omoda 7 and 9 manuals don't recommend towing at 40°C or above.
- Tyres. The Omoda 9 manual says to raise tyre pressures by at least 20 kPa (about 3 psi) when towing. See our tyre pressure guide for the normal figures.
- Driver aids. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and rear parking sensors shouldn't be relied on with a trailer attached. They may switch off automatically with the original towbar.
- Range. The E5 manual warns that towing will "drastically" reduce range, so plan charging stops.
- Warranty. All the manuals that cover towing say damage caused by towing a trailer isn't covered by the warranty. They recommend the original Omoda towbar.
