Quick answer: the Omoda E5 has a 61.0 kWh (or 58.9 kWh) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and charges at up to 11 kW AC, depending on version. The manual lists a range of 267 miles. The Omoda 7 plug-in hybrid has an 18.4 kWh or 9.9 kWh battery. The E5, Omoda 7 and Omoda 9 can all power appliances up to 3.3 kW through their charging port (V2L).

Omoda E5 battery and charging

The E5 manual lists two drivetrain versions, called "three-in-one" and "seven-in-one". They have slightly different batteries and onboard chargers.

Three-in-oneSeven-in-one
Battery energy61.0 kWh58.9 kWh
Battery typeLithium iron phosphate (LFP), liquid-cooled
AC charging (max)6.6 kW single-phase · 9.9 kW three-phase11 kW
DC rapid chargingSupported (power not given in the manual)
Motor150 kW, 340 Nm155 kW, 288 Nm
V2L (vehicle-to-load)Up to 3.3 kW
From the E5 UK manual (December 2025). The manual lists a single driving range of 267 miles (430 km).

Most UK homes have a single-phase supply, so home wallboxes usually charge at around 7 kW at most. The higher AC figures need a three-phase supply, which is more common at workplaces and public chargers.

Rapid charging tip from the manual: unplug at 90% rather than charging to full, and don't rely on rapid charging every time. The manual says frequent fast charging affects the battery's service life.

Omoda 7 and Omoda 9 plug-in hybrid batteries

ModelBatteryChargingV2L
Omoda 7 SHS-P18.4 kWh or 9.9 kWh lithium-ion, depending on battery supplierAC and DCUp to 3.3 kW (if equipped, adapter sold separately)
Omoda 9 SHS-PLithium-ion, 322 V / 107 AhAC and DCUp to 3.3 kW
The Omoda 9 manual doesn't give the battery size in kWh. Its rated 322 V × 107 Ah works out at roughly 34.5 kWh.

On both cars, V2L doesn't work while a DC rapid charger is plugged in. The Omoda 7 manual says the petrol engine starts automatically to top up the battery if it runs low while powering appliances.

Omoda 5 SHS-H hybrid battery

The Omoda 5 SHS-H is a self-charging hybrid, so it has no charging port. Its small battery (rated 353.3 V, 5.2 Ah) is charged by the engine and by regenerative braking.

Battery care tips from the Omoda manuals

  • Prefer slow (AC) charging for everyday use and save rapid charging for longer trips.
  • Do a full AC charge about once a month, which the E5 and Omoda 7 manuals both recommend.
  • Storing the car? Leave the E5 at around 50% charge and top it up monthly. For the Omoda 7, the manual says 50–70%.
  • Cold weather: charging takes longer below 0°C because the battery is heated first. Below −10°C, avoid rapid charging where you can, park in a garage, or set a departure time so the car preheats.
  • Heat and cold: rapid charging slows down in very hot or cold weather. This is normal and protects the battery.
  • Long parking: avoid leaving the car for long periods above 40°C or below −20°C.

The high-voltage battery has its own 8-year warranty. See the warranty guide for the terms.
